England Netball Membership Procedures
The adult membership fee is made up of three parts that go to:
1. England Netball – this pays for your insurance and contributes to the income of our National Governing Body. 2. North East Region – goes to the North East Regional Netball Association to help fund regional development initiatives and competitions. 3. Tyne and Wear County – goes to your County Association and is our income to fund the work done around development, running the county association and contributing towards competition costs. |
Your England Netball membership is processed online via their ENgage system – all players in Tyne and Wear County Competitions MUST be members of England Netball before they take the court or officiate matches. Your membership provides players, coaches and officials with the necessary insurance cover they need to take part in our sport.
ENgage is available from early August to register for the new season. Players can join at any time during the season and then play for their club in our competitions. The Competition Officer should be notified of all players added through the season and informed of their nominated team.
Players who are members of non-T&W clubs or who play for more than one T&W club.
A player who is a member of England Netball through a Tyne and Wear County Club may play for that club in the County League. If this player then wishes to play for an additional club in the County League they must pay an additional player fee of £10 per player, per club. Players may only play for a maximum of 2 clubs in the league.
A player who is a member of England Netball through a club from a different county must pay the additional player fee of £10 in order to play in the T&W County Leagues. At this time these payments should be made direct to T&W County and additional players names and membership Club should be added to the squad list when they are submitted as part of the nomination process at the start of the season. Player eligibility for competitions and membership requirements are often different. The information provided here relates specifically to Tyne and Wear Leagues. For other competitions please check the relevant regulations
Additional Players as detailed above are allowed to participate in T&W County competitions. However, as the cost of the league is subsidised by the County for the benefit of its members and its members also contribute via their Membership fee, to the costs of running the county netball association, the County charge an additional player fee to equalise the financial costs across all participants. This fee is not a second affiliation, and does not apply to other competitions or events. It is purely a fee paid in order to participate in the Tyne and Wear county competitions
Pay when Play Registrations
Clubs are allowed to name two ‘pay when play’ players at the start of the season. Should they be required to play they can be activated by informing the Competitions Officer tandwnetballcompetition@gmail.com and paying the relevant fee. Pay when Play Players don’t have to be paid for until they are actually needed.
