I am passionate about netball particularly within Tyne and Wear. I have always been impressed by the efforts, time and dedication of the Committee members and those who contribute and support netball in Tyne and Wear. With what is a very exciting and huge time for growth in the Sport I am excited to work with the Committee to continue the brilliant work and operation of netball in the County and look to the future and develop the County in a way which is tailored to its specific needs. |

Club: Email - [email protected] Job Description: Click here for a full role description Netball Life: I started playing netball at school, and quickly fell in love with the game, playing also at club and through the pathway. I have been to national finals for both school and club at multiple age groups as a player and a coach. I played for Newcastle University during my time there and was President of the Netball Club in my second year. Currently I am playing GD for my team in Division 1 T&W as well as focusing on my coaching with an emphasis on facilitating personal growth and confidence both on and off the court. Day Job: I am a Clinical Trials Coordinator for Newcastle Hospitals, Genetics at the Centre for Life and ENT at the Freeman Hospital. Interesting Fact: I have a musical theatre background and have performed on many stages around the North East. |

I teach swimming, lead skipping workshops and running groups and although no longer play netball I enjoy participating in fitness and exercise and supporting NSL as a table official. |

Really enjoying working with trainee umpires, seeing them qualify and progress. When it comes to organising the adult competitions, it's all thanks to Excel, although I’ve still to create the perfect set of fixtures! |

I play for Northern/Regional and Tyne and Wear Divison 1 Team Seatonians, B award umpire and mentor looking to work towards my A award within the next couple of years. Level 2 coach for Great Park Netball and U16 Seatonians. I also organise a team in our local mixed league called Deloitte and after all of this I seem to find time to volunteer on our amazing committee as the Compeition Referree alongside the legendary Liz Wiz If you don't recognise me from my picture I'm usually the one stuffing my face with the Blue Flame 50p mix ups! |
Performance Lead: Sarah Jane Cross
Club: Email: [email protected] Job Description: Click here for a full role description After 5 years in post as Secretary for the Tyne & Wear County Netball Committee, I stepped into the Performance Lead role 3 years ago and took over the responsibility of delivering our England Netball endorsed Player Development Programmes for U13s and U15s across Tyne & Wear. I’ve also been heavily involved in supporting the North East Regional U17 Player Development Programme across 2023/24 in partnership with Tyne & Wear County. As one of the original founders of Great Park Netball Club, I have helped to grow the club to over 200 members and as the Head Juniors Coach been integral in the development of a thriving club which now has 14 Teams playing in the County League and U14 and U16 Squads within the North East Regional Junior League too. I’m a qualified Level 2 England Netball Coach and have a huge passion for grass roots netball and for enabling opportunities for girls who don’t have access to netball at school to have a fun, engaging and focused environment to thrive and develop their netball skills. Myself and the T&W County Coaches love creating a successful and well organised experience for all of our under 13 and under 15 PDP athletes and are all involved via our Clubs in helping to develop the great talent that exists across the County Junior population. |
Coaching Officer - Mark Scott

I work for UK Coaching as Development Lead for Modern Learning and we are trying to develop independent and reflective coaches through changing the culture of coach learning. I hope I can bring some of this to this role in Tyne and Wear. My background is in football and I have played, coached and mentored coaches at various levels and I’m also an active tutor for the FA. With links to the Percy family, I have no choice but getting involved in netball! This has led to me supporting coaches at Riverside NC and the County Academy over the past few years.

I am currently a C award umpire working towards my B. Looking forward to being part of the Tyne & Wear committee to help support and encourage more people into officiating and of course support all the umpires we have already in this county. |

Youth Secretary - Isla Taylor
Email - [email protected] Job Description: Click here for a full role description I started playing netball in Australia aged 7 and absolutely loved it so carried it on when I came back to the UK. I joined Great Park Netball Club in 2016 so I have played through all the age groups starting at U11 and am currently in the U15’s. I also help to coach the U10’s and U11’s every Monday before my training session. This year I’ve also had the opportunity to play in the U15 Tyne and Wear County pathway. I am looking forward to joining the Committee to represent T&W Junior netball players. |
