Blue Flames has been hosting a Fireworks Event each year on 5th November for 20+ years. It is a major success and generates significant income to our Club. The funds raised make a hugely important contribution to maintaining the facilities on offer and indeed to support the viability of the business. As a not for profit organization, there are very few opportunities such as this to attract thousands of customers to our site.
The Board manages the event only with the support of volunteers. However the number of visitors is increasing each year and the focus on Health & Safety is greater than ever. So Blue Flames badly need an injection of helpers. The gates open at 5:00 pm and the Fireworks display starts at 7:00 pm and concludes about 7:30 pm. The bulk of the crowd have left the site by 8:00pm or so. We are asking your members to consider coming along for that 3 hour period to help with managing the queues, take admission money and stewarding all over the site. It is not a laborious task, indeed many of our volunteers are retired. It can be an enjoyable and satisfying evening helping families and young people enjoy themselves and ensuring their safety.
Your members enjoy using the venue on offer to play their sport here so we are asking for your support. Without more volunteers, the event could be in jeopardy. Without the event, Blue Flames revenue would suffer. If you plan to continue using the amenities here, please urge your members to help out to raise the funds which subsidise the sports facilities and keep prices low – it’s only 3 hours once a year.
