Competition TSG

10/4/2014

Picture
Following the adoption of the new Constitution at the EGM in January, we are looking for county members to get involved in the new Technical Support Group for Competition.  The Competition Officer has responsibility for all aspects of the organisation and administration of the various leagues and tournaments run by TWCNA for its members.
The TSG members would provide input into:
  • how we deliver, develop or amend existing competitions to ensure they provide what our adult county netballers want,
  • how we develop junior competition to ensure it provides an environment where our juniors can develop, compete, achieve their potential and stay involved,
  • how we design and introduce competitions and events to address new areas like Under 19, Masters, Fast Net, etc.
TSG members who are interested could get involved in helping to deliver competitions and events and also ensuring that our events run to England Netball guidelines.  The group will meet around 3 or 4 times a year.

If you have an interest in any of the above areas or would like to get involved in competition in the county then join the Competition TSG!

Please contact the Competition Officer, Liz Wisniewski, to lodge your interest or discuss this further.

Guidelines on the taking and use of photographic and recording images of young people

20/3/2014

Policy on the Taking and Use of Photographic and Recorded Images of Young People
Tyne and Wear County Netball Association (TWCNA) adopts England Netball’s policy for the taking and use of photographic and recorded images of young people and works in accordance with the following statement:

Introduction
TWCNA does not wish to prevent parents or other spectators being able to take legitimate photographs or recorded images. Use of recorded images can also be a valuable coaching aid. However, TWCNA is committed to providing a safe environment for young people under the age of 18. Included in this commitment is ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to protect young people from the inappropriate use of their images in resources and media publications, on the Internet, and elsewhere.

Photographic and recorded images can be used as a means of identifying young people if accompanied by personal information. This has the potential to make a young person vulnerable to individuals seeking to ‘groom’ young people for abuse. Additionally, images can be used or adapted for inappropriate use. There is evidence of adapted sporting images being used on websites displaying images of child abuse.

County Plan

22/9/2013

Picture
Tyne and Wear County Netball Association currently covers the three Local Authorities of Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside, it does not cover the authorities of South Tyneside and Sunderland. An experienced and motivated committee lead the development of netball in the county with a part time NDO and full time NDCC who has covered Newcastle Local Authority in the last 2 years. A number of committee members serve the Regional Technical Support Groups as members or Chairs and therefore have good communication with other Counties in the Region.
