The first matches of the Winter League 2016 will be in the week of 26th September. The process for submitting nominations and registering additional players will be as last year. Each team will submit the required lists and pay any monies due on the night of the first match involving their club. Nomination Night & Process This will be the night of the first match involving a team from your Club – a table showing your night is included at the end of the article. On this night you will be required to submit a Club Roster report generated from My Net marked with your Squad Nominations (if you have more than one team). If you only have one team it will be assumed that everyone on your Club Roster is nominated to your team. Instructions on how to generate a Club Roster are available from the TWCNA website or by clicking here. You will also need to register any additional players by completing an Additional Player form (available on the TWCNA website or by clicking here). Any additional player fees due should be paid on the night or if paying via BACS you will be given the bank details and a reference on the night and payment must reach the county account within one week. Please note that failure to meet this deadline will be in contravention of the League Rules and could result in a points or financial penalty. A member of the County Committee will be present at Blue Flames each night for the first two weeks between 7 and 8. On their Nomination night Clubs should submit to the Committee member on duty the following:
No “Additional Players” can be added after the 26th September deadline unless they are new to the Tyne and Wear league – for example someone who moves into the area but is already affiliated via their club in their previous location would count as new to the league and could be added as an “Additional Player”. If you add any “Additional Players” please email the Competition & Affiliation Secretaries stating the players name and the team you are nominating them to. If you affiliate any new players please email the Competition & Affiliation Secretaries stating the players name and the team you are nominating them to. Note: If you do not inform the Competition Secretary of the nominated team of any new affiliated player they will be nominated to the team who they first take the court for in the league! She is lucky enough to be one of the athletes who have recently been able to go full time as netball goes professional. Leah is looking for opportunities to offer coaching session to local clubs. She is a fully qualified Level 2 coach and has been lucky enough to coach Northumbria University teams and offer defensive masterclasses to clubs in the North East in the past two years. With her exposure at England level and in the Netball Superleague she has had the opportunity to learn from some of the top international netball coaches and would now like to share her knowledge and experience in her local area. Sessions are £25 an hour and can be planned around your clubs needs. Due to England camps being based in Loughborough, the initial dates that will be in Newcastle and available from is 22/08/2016 to 23/09/2016. If you wish to find out more about what is on offer or to organise a session please contact Leah at: [email protected] T&W will be holding two umpiring seminars that will cover rule changes that will take effect in all leagues from September 2016. Any umpire who wants to umpire in T&W Leagues (including those training to umpire who will require mentoring in the near future) MUST attend one of these two seminars and be present for the whole seminar. If anyone has a particular problem with both dates please make this known to the umpiring secretary in the next couple of weeks.
It is also compulsory for a member of every Club to attend - that might be your Umpire but if you don't have an umpire then you should send your Coach or Captain. Given that the rules affect players, umpires and coaches then the sessions are open for everyone to come along.
Any umpires that attended the rule change event hosted by the Region at Coach Lane Campus does not need to attend another session but can if you would like a refresher. Bleep Test As umpires are required to complete the bleep test to umpire in the T&W leagues there will be sessions held on the above dates from 6:30pm at Blue Flames. The qualification tournament for the North East Junior Regional League will be held on Sunday 2nd October 2016 at Blue Flames Sporting Club.
The Regional League has been expanded for the coming season with 6 clubs qualifying from the North Area (Northumberland and Tyne & Wear) in each age group. The deadline for entries to be received is Friday 26th August 2016. Once the entry is confirmed the details of the tournament, times, fixtures, cost will be confirmed. The deadline for submitting squads is likely to be Monday 27th September 2016. The final regulations are not available at this time but are unlikely to differ greatly from previous years. All enquiries should be sent to Liz Wisniewski at [email protected] |
