Winter League 2015 Announcement

14/8/2015

Divisions for the Winter League are now available on the website, fixtures will follow soon.  Teams who requested paper copies of fixtures on their Entry forms will receive these in the post shortly after the publication of the fixtures online.

The first games of the league will be on Thursday 24th September (Division 3L and 5R only).  There will be games every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday excluding the school half term week and November 5th (Thursday) with final games in the week of 7th December.  Roughly 10 weeks of matches and 6 matches per team.

The General Meeting for Spring Entry will be Wednesday 6th January 2016 and the League will resume the following week of 11th January 2016.  There will be a further 5 weeks of matches with the final week of matches in the week beginning 8th February 2016 – which gets us finished just in time for half term!

If there were any cancelled matches during the season these would be scheduled within the existing time schedule where possible but failing that would be in the week of 22nd February 2016.

In the main teams will play all their matches on the same week night, though a couple of divisions do have a mix of two nights.  Usually the night you play is the night you provide an umpire (this is slightly different with Divisions 1 & 2 because of the B Award requirement).  So if you have a match you should have arranged an umpire.  All teams will have 9 matches and therefore 9 umpires to provide.  If you can’t find your 9 umpiring allocations (or matches) please get in touch.

Teams must ensure they organise umpires well in advance (that’s at least 1 week in advance not 1 day)!  If you are struggling to find umpires then don’t leave it until the day of the match to inform the Umpiring Secretary, please get in touch at least 3 days before your match to give time to find someone to officiate.

Finally it’s likely that the Spring League will commence in mid-March – possibly the week beginning 14th March 2016 – for those planning ahead! Any queries, contact me on [email protected]
